I work with a guy who fences kettle corn on the side. He brings by the "test" subjects. I think my favorite was the toffee habanera.

Here is a good one for the quotes section... from the Holy Grail

"Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say 'ni' at will to old ladies. There is a pestilence upon this land. Nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress at this period in history."

i use spicey bbq sauce, just enough to cover. skin side down on a lower heat. do not turn, just leave it alone.
comes out pretty, tender, and with a layer of glaze with just the right sweetness and spice. sqeeze some lemon and viola.
always good to throw some asperigus on the grill too with pepper and olive oil.
what can i say, i grill everything.

Salmon Steak are usually much cheaper than filets. Only difference is that there are bones in the steaks, but usually at a fraction of the cost......IRIE

Bun, I like your salmon technique, what kind of sauce do you use? Do you make your own?

Salmon at Costco is suprisingly cheap AND fresh. I usually buy most of my seafood there. I dont eat red meat or chicken- only fish- so I am super picky about the freshness and fish is pretty much the only protien I get in my diet so I try to vary recipes alot so get some variety.

My favorite is sauteed salmon in a lemon caper butter sauce. MMMMM!

"i use spicey bbq sauce, just enough to cover. skin side down on a lower heat. do not turn, just leave it alone."

keep in mind that salmon is plentiful and inexpensive here. I eat it often, ie. 4-5 times a month.
I found a place that smokes it to jerky. I cant tell you how good it is for words do not exist.

Portland OR, we have salmon on our lisence plates.

since I got my new grill, i use tin foil to make a boat as to keep it from smelling fishy with salmon juice.

portland bun'n cheeze - try wrapping your salmon completely in foil. it steams the fish and it comes out oh-so-tender. i always put in some asparagus and/or broccoli and lemon altho i don't sauce it. mmmmm mmmmm good.
