Can I come and play ? he he...So this is where you have all got to.

Just passing on some news I hear that Simpleton passed away last week.
And then Errol T just now (Today/yesterday?)..
Very sad news. Not sure of all the details (I will have a shufty at the Gleaner)
Apparently Errol T was ill in hospital, but was a bit of a surprise to all, as he had been in good health.

The Roll Call continues..

That's sad news. I heard about Simpleton's passing already, but Errol T is new to me. A great engineer for sure.

Good to 'see' ya, Sis!

More sad news.

He made those Joe Gibbs classics mainly without the credit.

No one will ever cut a groove as deep as Errol T.

Hail up fellas (and gals) Hello to all the SNWMF peoples....nice to come and join you. We BAF refugees aint a bad lot, honest..

Just tried a search and checked the Gleaner and The Star but no update on this yet. Think Errol did just pass this morning or yesterday...

Sad year once again for the music...too many gone this year...

"a>lthough simpleton really never put out anyting toward i* personal consciousness"

Have you heard "Sick Under Rastaman Treatment?" Killer tune with conscious lyrics but a hardcore dancehall vibe.

it's really been a terrible stretch and i fear that we'll have few real breaks as the age of the 'roots' and original singers and players (and engineers) are into their elder years...

i agree that ET was and is a giant.

Simpleton was discussed here too.. many people don't know he preceeded Capleton in stagename and vocal style. and though his lyrical subjects ranged, i was very glad yesterday when i came across the most recent of his records i'd picked up: "See Mi Face" (Rashanco), which talks about not judging people from afar (ahem.. Capleton.. Sizzla...). nice tune that had even more ring to it yesterday.

if you can, go there.

"many people don't know he preceeded Capleton in stagename and vocal style"

I didn't know that - how long has he been around for? Capleton's been around since the late 80s, it doesn't seem like Simpleton couldn't have preceded him by that much . . .
