Slim Smith at Studio One

Looking at Juha's site and pithy comments about the lack of extras on Heartbeat's re-ish of S.S.'s Born to Love album made me curious. Question: what other tunes came out of Studio One from the great slim Smith? Comment: Wouldn't it be grand if Soul Jazz (or someone) could collect all of his glorious Studio One output and put it out there for us all to enjoy.

some others at Studio 1

CONVERSATION
HAPPY TIMES
KEEP WALKING
HIP HUG GIRL (7"winking smiley
DO YOU LOVE ME (with Norma Fraser)
GIRLS LKIE DIRT (with the Uniques)

apparently Do Dang Do turned out to be Leroy Sibbles and reappeared on the SOUL JAZZ FUNK as Do Your Thing!

Cheers for that. Great to know that incredibly short album isn't all that he did at studio One !!

Interestingly many of those tracks were not backed by the main studio one band like the Soul Vendors, instead Slim was backed either by the Sharks, or by the Gaylads (who were a competent studio band and backed themselves on many of their Beverley's cuts).

Wasn't "Conversation" cut for Bunny Lee? I know Cornell Campbell voiced it for Studio One, but I didn't know Slim Smith did a second cut for them . . .

Right Fish, no second cuts mentioned in Never Grow Old, only C.Campbell.

Hip Hug (10"winking smiley extended (with The Gaylads)

Hip Hug Girl (7"winking smiley same as Hip Hug (7"winking smiley

"Conversation" (7" Studio 1) from 1968 is listed in "A Scorcher From Studio One"

Correction to above - that should have read "A Scorcha from Studio One"

Both Slim and Cornel versions of CONVERSTION also listed in "More Scorcha from Studio One".

Neither of the cuts are listed in "Coxsone's Music"
