This label seems to put out all the killer tunes!

But since I live in Sweden I have big difficulty finding these releases. Is it their distrobution thats not so big or is it just selling out like wildfire ? cuz I cant find them anywhere...

Give thanks for answers.

Ernie B still have 3 of them on stock :

Clive Matthews - Live Not For Vanity / Vane Out Vanity Dub r 1982

Clive Matthews - No Apology

Ewan Naptali - Africa Awaiting It's Creators

I think the rest of their titles are out of print right now & quite hard to find - maybe the small UK vendors still have some on stock - try Dub Vendor.

Rootical Dubber has put out some very obscure top roots singles, most, if not all from different producers. The only one missing from your list that I know of mashdown is:

Exodus / Prophetical Dub - Freddy McKay
(produced by Freddy McKay)

Yes JP excellent tune & UK sound system favourite

Mashdown - were both of the Unity/Jah Children cuts pressed by Rootical D ? Thought that only the upsetter cut...

Yes skunk, both tracks re-issued by Rootical Dubber (and both UK pressings).

All the others titles the label put out were pressed up in JA

Upsetter on 'Unity'

King Tubby, L A Benjamin & H Martin credited on 'Jah Jah Children' (which is a must with it's essential Scientist dub mix)

oops.. i have the exodus one too!! beautiful tune ("take my hands oh jah"winking smiley

i think "no apology" is a new tune (meaning no good compared to the rest) (i remember a new tune and think its that one..)

On my copy of "trevor byfield - burning bush" is the original vocal track but I think the rhythm track was replaced. I once heard a cut that sounded more like roots on the same label. Are there two cuts of this one both on rootical dubber?

riffraff

As far as I know there was only one cut of 'Burning Bush'

Sounds like you got a version side to one of the other titles listed above. Check the matrix on the vinyl - maybe someone could ID it for you.

The first batch of Freddy McKay's 'Exodus' on Rootical Dubber carried the dub side to Ewan Naptali's - wicked 'Africa Awaiting It's Creators'.

This error was later corrected on subsequent pressings.

riffraff - i remember hearing a sample on a site of burning bush and i was disappointed cos it was a different version (okay but not so nice) from the one i knew (killer).. but i ordered it anyway and it was the one i knew and not the same track as the sample... if that makes sense!

Nowhere i'm afraid...maybe on specialist UK shops that still have some stocks left but this shops usually don't sell online...

[dubvendor.co.uk] have other 2 7"s left...maybe try to check them

If Dub Vendor can get hold of more stocks of the records they might do a special order for you.

There's also the outside chance that these singles will be repressed again (although I don't think that's very likely).

Good luck with your search!

I know you have put this one together for personal use, but it made me wonder why Rootical Dubber don't do an official CD (or LP) of these tracks. It would be a great way to pick up these scarce roots items all in one purchase, plus there seems to be a large number of reggae buyers excluded from the important 7" market due to CD only set ups (not forgetting those who may have missed out on the vinyl singles).
