Greetings-I
December 20, 2009 12:20AM
Hello-I,

As a new member of the Sierra Nevada Family, I want to extend a Happy New Years to all the reggae fans. Merry Babylon Christmas as well. I have been into Reggae music with my Empress Brittney for almost 3 years now, and we are looking forward to our first festivals this summer. We are both in the process of growing dreadlocks, but our hair is blond and very fine. Any advice?? We haven't washed our locks in 2 months, but now my oppressive parents are threatening to kick us out of the Babylon basement! Anyways, my whole crew will be there this summer, beating our Nyabinghi's all night. Look for us wearing the green, gold, and red. If you want to get a hacky sack circle going, we'll have plenty of them.

Do you think there is any chance Matisyahu will be playing! That would be awesome!

One question on the camping. Can we camp from the back of our Escalade? It has the attachment.

PEACE

welcome ras chad bobo

probably matisyahu will play on the main stage just before ras trent and the headliner prince ras jah zoki, whose parrot is known for its ital international dread style of hack, juggling, and fire dance in dub.

Speaking of Groundation (I don't really want to start a new thread for this) but I suddenly remember seeing them open for Sizzla, Turbulence and Firehouse at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz in 2003ish, and being really impressed with a female lead vocalist who did the first half of their set. As ubiquitous as they can sometimes seem in Northern California, I've never seen her perform with them again (another reason, perhaps, I've avoided learning anything more about them than seeps in through proximity), but I'm suddenly curious. Anyone know who it could have been?

Not Arcata Ruff Nek...Walnut Creek. We're holding down the Rasta in the 925.

I heard flags are allowed at the Festival. If so, I and I have a huge 10 foot Bob Marley Flag that I want to wave in the crowd-I. Me thinks the Rasta vibe will be strong.

Burn Babylon Survivor!! Russell should have won! =-) JAHHHH!

Re: Greetings-I

Well...

Britney and I&I had to shave our dreads due to a head crab infestation...we think it must mean something-I. Maybe how we look isn't as important as how we act?

Or...maybe I need to forget the dreads and grow I-self a wicked scraggly beard and adopt a turban. I could stuff it with hemp fiber to be environmentally conscious.

Dr. Octagon, seen. I & I can't say much about the Palestinians that hasn't been said already-I. But...NOBODY should have to live in a Gully! Definitely not awesome.

You are right about one thing though... Matisyahu is the only hope for the region, and world peace in general. I & I breddren call him the "Pale Face Luciano". He should serve as the worlds reggae ambassador, introducing entire countries to Reggae's white Judeo-Christian Roots. I reason perhaps that is where the term Roots reggae comes from.

Kind of reminds me of one of his deeper lyrics:

"If you're trying to stay high, then you're bound to stay low
If you're already there, then there's nowhere to go"

DREADLOCKS!
