Peter Rowan's Great performance in 03

I'm grateful that Warren is keeping an open mind in his booking acts that
push the enevelope of "traditional" reggae.
Peter Rowan's set at last year's festival was one of the highlights of the festival. His ability to fuse the two wonderful musical genre's -Bluegrass and Reggae- was nothing short of genius. (check out his "Reggaebilly" CD ) It is a tribute to an artists creativity to sucessfully cross musical lines and do justice to both styles.
This kind of cultural cross-pollination help bring the world together and should be encouraged, not disparaged. I know there was some skepticism last year when he was announced on the line-up, but the festival was blessed to have Peter's
beautiful voice fill the air. Let keep our hearts AND minds open brothers and sisters and be willing to be open to new things. Blessings to all in '04 !

I will say emphati-collie that Peter's set with Fully Band, was easily one of my favorite moments from 2003 SNWMF. I recommend most Haile the album by Peter called REGGAEBILLY from A-Train Entertainment based in Oakland, CA. I think since I got this release it has not left my cd player, I've given it airplay on my radio show and gotten great feedback, but it does take a slight moment to catch the vibe, not everyone likes peanut butter on their mango, but hey I do.
Hope he will make a return to SNWMF sometime....
