never been a big Sizzla fan but i'm trying to broaden my reggae horizons.

Is his best album black woman and child?

any 7'' reccomendations/comments

holding firm
ain't gonna see us fall
drop leaf riddim

or should I just not even bother at all. i seem to have very narrow taste in newer dancehall. sizzla has about 23,000 7'' 's I'd like to wade thru the crap.

Pretty much everything on the 2-CD "The Story Unfolds" covers his old days. And Da Real Thing, of course.
Right now tunes I like are "Rise to the Occasion" "I Was Born" "My Love"...
The Drop Leaf riddim is nice as a whole, not just the Sizzla pon it.

Da Real Thing is an album I enjoy. Sizzla's softer side.

for older stuff, his "black woman & child" as well as "praise ye jah" are two great ones--and actually the jet star reggae max series has a sizzla offering that covers most of these tunes on one nice cd. and then, the recent "da real thing" is a must. as far as singles, too many to ponder...

P.S. Sizzla actually just sent me his new King Taffari sound system stuff with some other stuff he voiced for me: I got it just yesterday and listened to it 3 times now. 16 tunes of his new stuff, laid down on the most mainstream hip hop & RnB riddims you can imagine, with him toasting over those, mixing the tunes, and laying crazy lazer samples over the whole thing. I may just have to stream it @ FresnoReggae.com next month...

Actually, Sizzla's first album, BURNING UP on RAS was really good material...

"black woman & child" as well as "praise ye jah"

Best by a long shot imho. Nothing since reflects a really good Sizzla as these 2 sets do.
