Favorite Artist with only one album....

I'm not talking about the newer artists, but rather older artists who put out one outstanding album and none thereafter.

Michael Smith came to my mind with his "Mi C-Yaan Believe It", but my vote would have to go to....

Pablove Black Mr. Music Originally (1979)

And I just checked out at Wikie and found out that he released another album titled Charcoal Charlie (1986)

m.

now i see that "ghetto cry" may well be the same as "the way it is". wouldn't know as i don't have the highly sought after "the way it is" LP...i do love "africa is calling" though. anyone know if "africa is calling" has duplicate cuts from "the way it is"?

i've got the pablove "charcoal charlie" LP on tamoki wambesi and it's pretty bland, i must say. not one to seek out, unless one is a completist i guess.

"Africa Calling" is remastered (and inferior) version of "The Way It Is" album, and the third one is a compilation with some added singles, with this as my fav one:

thanks for the clarification on those LPs. but note, there is the "the forgotten man" CD, which i'd never seen before.

that's just a great track, zoki. nicest of ones! his voice on this one is so reminding me of someone else, but i can't for the life of me figure out who it is...

daniel, i've PM'd you an OT question.

1979 release by the Mystic Eyes called Mysterious on the Burning Sound label is nice.

I don't know if they have an LP but I have a 12" from the Black Volts on a Arawak release label, song called "struggling". Very nice roots harmony, don't know why I haven't heard anything else or LP for that matter. Info would be appreciated.

Also have the Natural Ites LP from 1985 called Picture on the wall, I have the original LP released on CSA but don't think the put another one out... I may be wrong on this one

Well, I thought right away of a certain set of USA-based one-drop wonders, but someone already posted it.

Not old, but not new either:

Yahadanai: "One Atonement"

Yahadanai has at least 2 albums I believe.

Well, if i were looking at 'newer' artists, I would probably rate Yadahanai's "One Atonement" over Ikahba's only album. And, if Yadananai had a second album, that one would be in my collection too but alas.......

Here's a next one (though my album cover looks nothing like this one):

Icarus - State of Mind

Sorry confusing him with Batch for some reason. And I agree about Yahadanai's album over Ikhaba.
