They had the ESPN commentators postgame talking at a panel with a crowd of Giants fans waving signs & hooting & whooping behind them. One big orange sign read "TUCK THE FIGERS"...

G men come through big with small ball in game #2...2-0 to go up 2-0!
PS In a couple of nights from now, I want to be able to change the title of this thread by putting a 'W' in front of the word 'IN'...

EZ partner, we got a saying "its so cold in the D" the Giants are red hot maybe the weather can cool them off a bit. But the Tigers got to hustle harder than that or maybe drop a few hundo in the middle of the lineup by 2013.

Here you go Papa Josh! A shot of Verlander proudly sporting his new t-shirt!
(Yeah, I know it's shopped, but hilarious still)

The middle of the line up (YounG,Cabrera, Fielder) gets payed as much as the whole A's squad. Disgraceful

that's the beauty of baseball. You can buy all the talent you can (or can't) afford but that does not assure you of success. Its a team game and the Giants are the epitome of team...

GO GIANTS!!!

I am happy for that sweep but almost wish there was one or two more games to watch. LOL Congrats to the Giants! 2 in 3 years. I was a big Giants fan during the Dusty Baker years and they were so close that its great to see this team have so much success. Big up to Pablo and Barry Zito. Two years ago they hardly had a hand in helping win the series now they are the two IMO who really stepped up big time!

Congrates to the Giants!!!, clearly a more well rounded team under postseason pressure. An incredibly likable bunch, true they play as a well rounded team unlike the lopsided Motor City Kitties.. However their payroll is as padded as Tigers and above most except the elite of baseball. They just spend it a bit more evenly and have a few of their own disappointments. An intelligently marketed stadium complex bringing in big revenue to back up that payroll to boot they sure are locking in a dynasty. Did you see those shots on tv of the park? Breathtaking. In the end the A's get the title for unlimate teamwork with the platooning Melvin on under half the Giants and Tigs payroll.

Perfect example of why these "teams" dont stay together, Both Blanco and Posey are in for some considerable inflation once current contracts run out.

sour grapes papajoshua. sour grapes.
maybe if the owner of the a's would keep a few of his players instead of selling them off for next to nothing the a's would be relevant.

It was very cool to see Alex Smith & Jim Harbaugh, the qb and head coach of the 49ers, chauffeuring a couple of players in the parade for the World Series Champion San Francisco Giants (man, it felt good to write that!)
