As a gitsy I'm a huge Tony Chin fan! He along with Santa and Fully invented the 'flyers' style of riddim, which was huge for a couple of years before it was supplanted by Sly & Robbie's 'steppers' or 'militant' style. Impeccable timing and a confident onstage demeanor that always conveys enjoyment of the music! (not to mention, he got me a guest pass into the latest Tosh Meets Marley show...)

I wish guitar players like him had more articles, lessons, and things of that nature online, for people who are looking to really deconstruct and get into the details of reggae rhythm guitar!

I had the pleasure of standing in front of him for this performance of Nkulee Dube last summer at Reggae on the River:

Love that reggae!

Per (http://www.abouttonychin.com/qanda.htm)

Andrew in Vancouver, Canada asks:

"You have been playing that guitar of yours for years... I see it in photos going back a long time. What's with that guitar - I've never seen anyone else play one of those. What is it? What's the story behind it?"

"The guitar was custom made by a guy in the Bay Area by the name of Kline. I was introduced to his work by Bruce Caplan who was the manager for Big Mountain and I loved its unique look and sound and because it is small it is easy to travel with."
