It's been a rainy night in Grimsby
With fierce winds and howling gales
There are torrents of rain in Tewkesbury
And floods at St Asaph in Wales
There is talk of the Avon bursting its banks
While in Gloucester they're starting to fret
The weather is poor on the North York moor
And Pickering is under threat

It's perenially pouring in Penzance
And dismal and damp in the West
And in the dale of Maida Vale
The Westbourne is seriously stressed
There are noisy alarms in York's Railway Arms
And the whole bloody country is wet
The weather stays poor on the North York moor
And poor Pickering remains under threat
