what happened to all the culture mixes ???

in the past one could expect a flurry of culture mixes every quarter or so.. basically representing whats hot or come out over the last 3-4 months..

is JA no longer churning out these type of tunes ? or are the SNWMF resident DJs just not posting their wares ?

come in GTO.. JWS... RMS... Broken Silence...

the mixes put out by the DJ Kenny's, ron don's, and the like just plain suck.. so i look to the west coast mixes to get my fill..

BMC has put out some nice mixes...

The best mix I got from this site was DJ Stepwise "Full Confidence vol. 2". I still play that in my car!

Bout to drop off this fresh mix for 2013! Been doing a weekly radio mix, one hour of live jugglin every week on 95.3thebeachfm so that and my newborn has been taking up most of my time. to answer your question from my personal perspective... yes the past six months & more have suffered as far as frequency of quality releases. recently is seems the pendulum has decided to swing and there are some nice riddims releasing again on a regular basis. again from my personal perspective i think reggae is still figuring out how to be a successful and worthwhile endeavor esp. for the producers out there that have had difficulty seeing a return from their works after since the mp3 has taken over.

*worth noting is for kulture releases... when you ask if JA is not producing these sorta tunes... actually i think some of my favorite riddims of recent have been from labels like Dynasty / Itation / Larger Than Life / Philladub / Rumble Rock / (also looking forward to some of the production coming out of the JWS camp) all of which are U.S. based labels; as well as labels like Flash Hit & others outta France / the UK.

*also worth noting... RMS is originally an East Coast sound outta Philadelphia.
