Thank you SNWMF! I have been waiting my entire life to see this artist!! To be honest, I was considering skipping this year's festival, but with Max Romeo on the bill, as well as Alpha Blondy, the Marleys, and the Gorgon, looks like Imma haffi make the trip...

Have been scrimping and saving and paying off credit card debt for the past three years just so I could get to SNWMF this year for the 20th anniversary. Would be excited no matter who was playing, but Max Romeo and Alpha Blondy?????.....WOW, I am so psyched!!!!!!! Have already seen most of the other artists at one time or another, but never those two. This is gonna be a GREAT show!

Tonight is our weekly meeting of the GUAM Massive...there's gonna be a LOT of happy campers when they hear the news.

Kind of interested in the Korean group as well since a lot of my students hail from Korea. I'll check out what they know about them.

Nice one... so many great Max Romeo chunes, but one that really grabbed me a few years back was this gem (extra points if you know who did the original - no Googling hahaha):

#1 Show I am most excited for!! Max Romeo! I thought I would never get a chance to see him. Very excited for Alpha Blondy and Iqulah but Max is going to be amazing.

anyone know how it works with some of these legends blessin the mic in the dancehall? If they feel the vibe maybe they pass thru or is it contractual? Been a few years now and havent had the here comes.......!!!!!

Love to see some of the legend voice over Jah Shaka or Fadda Screw selections!!! NEVADA!!!!!! ....

I have often wondered the same thing. I would guess that it is contactual if they do it. Just a guess on my part though. In 2008 after Buju's set I can remember the MC saying to head to the dancehall there might be a surprise appearance. I never do the dancehall thing but I went that night because I took that as a possability Buju would be in the dancehall that night.

I would love to see a big time artist on the mic in the dancehall!!!

The only artists that were 'contracted' to perform in the dancehall (that I can recall) were Sabbattical Ahda (2004), Pressure (2005) and Jah9 (2011).....

i hope every year.... last year i was hoping Johnny "The Dancehall Godfather" Osbourne would make an appearance on the mic, but it never happened...... last one i remember that was a surprise is Sugar last time Downbeat played.... i guess we will find out in a few weeks!
