That's the first year I saw the Itals @ the Hollywood Palace Theater. I think it was their first U.S. tour with the late owner of Nighthawk Records as their driver around the U.S. Great Ital shows back in the 80's & early 90's with the Roots Radics. Also a nice set @ SNWMF a few years back.

Hi Carrie. You know, I will have to get into those old photos to see if Bassie did perform then... I don't think so. He came onto my radar a few years after that when he played with a band from Whale Gulch, named Massawa. However, a bit of research led me to the fact Bassie played on a 1983 recording with the Itals.
This shot was made at the first ROTR, 1984.
