Should Vybz Kartel's book be part of UWI syllabus?

Incarcerated dancehall superstar Adijah Palmer aka Vybz Kartel released a book in 2012 "Voice of the Jamaican Ghetto". It covers various social, economic, and political topics. It has been proposed that it becomes a part of the University of West Indies syllabus.

What's your opinion? The book co-authored by the World Boss be taught in schools?

No opinion. I haven't read the book and it would be really presumptuous of me to be selecting books for the University of the West Indies as I am not a member of that institution or even a citizen of Jamaica.

Dr. Cooper said the book is surprisingly sophisticated and good.
Critics of the book in JA say it is too socially liberal for conservative attitudes.

I haven't read the book so can't judge it's content. But I tend to think if it gets kids reading and the content isn't totally destructive, I wouldn't see a problem given that at least it might get some kids interested in reading.
