This one hurts a lot. If you haven't heard one of the seminal works in rock history, run out and get JJ's first album, 'Naturally'.

Magnolia

Whippoorwill's singing
Soft summer breeze
Makes me think of my baby
I left down in New Orleans
I left down in New Orleans

Magnolia, you sweet thing
You're driving me mad
Got to get back to you, babe
You're the best I ever had
You're the best I ever had

You whisper "Good morning"
So gently in my ear
I'm coming home to you, babe
I'll soon be there
I'll soon be there

Magnolia, you sweet thing
You're driving me mad
Got to get back to you, babe
You're the best I ever had
You're the best I ever had
You're the best I ever had
You're the best I ever had

One of the few artists who said more with less.

Love that reggae!

Bummer. A true original. Loved his sound: he played quiet, and turned it up loud.
Glad I got to see him a few times. He was always great, though subdued, live. A real character in a field of wanna-be's.

The man's understated soul and effective minimalism were a big influence in my approach to music and reggae. I'm gonna miss him.
