UGH, Daryl Hall once proclaimed that Hall & Oats were the Beatles of the 80's. I lost what little respect I had for him at that point and never looked back.

hall & oates were dealing in JA music before a lot of SNWMF boardies were born.

in 1975 they recut Stanley Beckford's "Soldering" which was recorded for GG Ranglin (and also released under Beckford's group name of Starlites).

this was before Mikey Dread collaborated with the Clash and even before Patti Smith gave Zukie a lift.

their cover also obviously predates the Echo Minott recut for Jammys, a favorite of mine, from around 1984.


i'm not saying it's the best thing ever, but FYI that's what's up.
