I'm disappointed to hear that it will be the same weekend as SNWFM. My wife and I flew up from AZ last year for the inaugural show and we had a great time. It was quite different from SNWMF but a whole lot of fun. Being able to stay at a great B & B and have a 15 minute walk to the show was outstanding. The lineup was diverse, the food was awesome, and they had good beer and wine.

We enjoyed the sets of Allah Las, Vintage Trouble, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Ben Harper & Charley Musselwhite, Charley Musselwhite solo, Michael Franti, and Cake. I have to say though that Franti's music has become far to pop orientated recently and my wife enjoyed that set more than I did as he played a lot of his new music.

From an attendees standpoint, I was surprised at how smoothly it ran for a first year show considering the massive scale of it. The promoters were way over their head it seems though and they ended up stiffing a lot of people who made the show possible. I'm glad to hear that the outstanding debts are going to be paid by those who are taking over the festival.

Daniel you are wrong about the dates. The dates they have applied for with the Napa Expo are June 20, 21, 22.

"But for its part, GSF Entertainment proposes to pay the Expo $800,000 for the use of the grounds for a three-day festival from June 20 to 22, rather than on Mother's Day weekend in May when the first festival occurred."

Daniel-

Sadly, that is a situation much like years back when Reggae Rising was selling tickets to a show that wasn't happening. The promoters of the first Bottlerock Festival started selling those tickets as soon as the festival ended last May. Supposedly, they were going to have the festival on Mother's Day weekend again in 2014. This despite the fact that there was no way those promoters were going to be doing the festival again as they had a large mountain of debt, a long list of unpaid vendors which included the city of Napa, and a large amount of community bad will.

From an attendees standpoint, the festival went fairly well for a first time festival. Apparently, the two guys that run it were WAY over their head though. I think the last figure I saw is that they ended up with $8.5 million in debt.

@reggaeromp.

That's an old story. There are new investors. GSF Entertainment LLC — made up of Napans David Graham, Jason Scoggins and Joe Fischer — recently announced it would assume $6.6 million in debt from creditors of BR Festivals, the organizers of BottleRock 2013.

@Daniel.

I'm sure once they get settled in they will be updating their website with the new "approved" dates of June 20, 21, 22.
