When I have more time to think about this, I will add to my list. But off the top of my head, here are 5 that come to mind right away:

Clinton Fearon - nobody puts on a better live show that Clinton and company. Some are as good, but nobody is a notch above him

Culture - long live Joseph Hill. Guy brought it every time, 100% pure roots and culture

Anthony B - anybody that has seen one of his shows knows exactly why he's on this list

Natural Black - it's been a while since I've been as impressed with a performer as I was with Natural Black at ROR last year. WOW

Junior Kelly - he comes out BLAZING and never lets down. Very impressive live that made me say WOW during tunes like "Tough Life" and "Boom Draw"

Bob Marley
Peter Tosh
Black Uhuru ~ 1982 line-up
Mighty Diamonds
Burning Spear

For me the best shows were in the 1980's and early 90's.
Glad to see Michael Rose with Sly & Robbie on this year's line-up. At least I hope they are on stage together.

Ok….u got good memory and are very specific. This is a list of performers that are great every time and that you could see time and time again. Specific shows are good but I think that was already a topic. All my five I have seen many times and look forward to seeing time and time again. Except Gentleman I have only seen him 1 1/2 times.

Lucky Dube was in a "zone" for a solid 7-10 years of always being good live. What took him down a notch later, was when he replaced horns with synth. Never a good musical decision.

Burning Spear's consistency is also his downfall. Too many similar playlists and even calls to the audience end up being identical "talk to me people"

Anthony B seems the most consistent.

Akee I agree about Lucky Dube, synths vs. horns, etc. He was always very professional and energetic, despite his horn (or lack of) section.

Luciano

Culture

Jeez so many shows to remember. Ill just toss out some as a bonus Maybe not the top 5 but the most memorable ones that come to mind quickly.

Tribute To The Roots in 2006 in San Diego. Horace Andy, Martin Campbell, Cornell Campbell and others backed by Soul Syndicate. One of the best if not THE best show I ever saw. Loved the horn section that night.

Don Carlos at Maritime Hall whenever it was. It was the one that 2B1 put out on DVD. Old school Yellow Wall Dub Squad with Wadi Gad on drums, Fazel Pendergast on guitar, Amlak Tafari on bass. Don is one of the most consistent performers I have ever seen.

Luciano at Maritime Hall whenever it was. Again a 2B1 DVD release. Full band with Dean Fraser. Wicked!

The Maritime Hall was such a great place to go see shows and I miss it. It would get so packed and rammin that the floors would start to rumble and felt like a wave.

Culture at The Melkweg in Amsterdam during the 1999 Cannabis Cup. Went there with norcaljahman and we sat next to Eddy Lepp on the plane ride over as he shared his scrapbook of articles and his fight against the Feds. I think we saw culture the first night of the Cup and by that time we had already amassed numerous shops entries, both herb and hash. We tried to figure out what we would do for the next couple days of competition having amassed so much already. We took everything we had and rolled it into a gigantic fatty and enjoyed it during Culture's performance. Great experience altogether, topped by Culture.

Groundation with Horsemouth at the Boom Boom Room in SF. Actually this was a preview to the upcoming Rockamovya album they released consisting of Harrison, Marcus, Iron Ryan and Horsemouth. Will Bernard may have been there too. This was in March(can't remember the year off the top of my head) right after their annual Bob Marley tribute tour. I remember there being a Hammond B3 organ I believe and Marcus ripped it up. They all jammed hard that night.

Burning Spear's Sierra 2004 performance with guest appearance by Andrew Tosh...LOL

Shinehead's performance at Sierra 2000 in Marysville backed by the THC Band. He came out into the crowd while singing and joined a group of people kicking a soccer ball around, kicking and singing at the same time.

So many others......

Luciano at Maritime....beautiful vibes and memories of Mama Joyce who held his hand and prayed with him.

Anyone go to Bob Marley Day 1998 at the Kaiser Auditorium in Oakland? Back when Luciano & Sizzla toured together, and Sizzla had just buss that year, very raw on the stage. Luciano was in his prime, as was the Xterminator label.
