Huge addition, and very happy to get to see this very underrated band!!! Thank you SNWMF!

And for those out there not familiar with Black Slate, check out "The Music Of Black Slate" post by Daniel.

Now, I want to just list my personal favorite albums:

Amigo - this is a must get album that was their debut album. Its recently been re-released with better sound and bonus tracks. It contains some of my favorite reggae songs, including "Amigo", "Sticksman" (although I personally like the original version from 1976 just a tad better, but both versions are very good. you can download the original version of "Sticksman" on ITunes), and "Romans" (a GOOD tune!). The rest of the album is all very solid and worth checking out as well.

Midnight - their second album that is also very good

Ogima - a solid dub album of "Amigo" for those that like dub

And another hidden gem in the Black Slate catalogue:

Ras Elroy's "With Love In Our Hearts" - the bass player from Black Slate released a solo album a few years ago, and it has the Black Slate sound written all over it, and is just a very, very good album. Plus it's only like 9 bucks at Ernie B's site. Totally worth it.

World Citizen - brand new album that is solid, and the title track is a future classic

I can't wait to see Black Slate, and I hope that people that may not be familiar with them, will check them out. You will not be disappointed, they are the real deal.

Excuse my ignorance but I did not know that amigo was from black slate. I heard it off a mix by cojii from mighty crown. My son and I sing it in the car all the time. Thank you snwmf for bringing this vibe to boonville.
