niceup must have been 2010 as world cup is every 4 years. jamaica didn't qualify but i'm sure many of the artists will like to watch games. here is the schedule: [www.fifa.com]
3 teams from africa to cheer for that weekend. would be sweet to have a big screen set up somewhere shady.
avbc wont be open for the early games and the later games will conflict with some of the music. espn will be streaming all the games i believe if there is fast wifi somewhere on the fairgrounds. usa v portugal a must see 3pm sunday

Some of the Hendy Woods posse goes to the gas station/restaurant/quick shop right in Boonville ~ same side of the street has the fairgrounds. They have some good eats & good prices.

Redwood drive-in is the place to view all the games. Good food as well. You can even buy a beer from the cooler and sit and drink it while watching the games on a big tv on the wall.

Heres the Yelp reviews:

For the real futbol-heads in the crowd, check out: http://www.kqed.org/radio/listen/ The interview is with my brother, Roger Kittleson, professor of history at Williams College and author of "The Country of Football: Soccer and the Making of Modern Brazil". He's being interviewed on FORUM with Michael Krasny at KQED this morning 9:00 am west coast time.

"Brazilian Protests Continue on Eve of World Cup"
The 2014 World Cup kicks off in Brazil on June 12 with an estimated 1 billion soccer fans across the globe expected to watch. But a Pew Research Center poll finds that 61 percent of Brazilians think hosting the event is bad for the country, and shifts money away from health care, schools and other public services. There are also concerns that ongoing strikes by public transport workers and protests by Brazilians upset over the event's high cost could escalate and disrupt the games.
