I guess the means he recovered from the injuries he suffered when some a$$hole hit him in the head with a liquor bottle. Very happy news, indeed.

Having seen toots so many times and as One of the first reggae acts I ever saw, my first reaction is not to be that excited. However in knowing about the horrible incident that took place Where a bottle hit toots in the head, I'm so glad to see him recuperated and take the stage once again. Give thanks

Big up Toots! Star time.

I get a longing to reach Jamaica again after watching "Country Roads" video. smiling smiley

"Toots & The Maytals ~ Time Tough ~ The Anthology" 2 CD set from Island Records 1996. Great collection of Toots/Maytals songs. I've been listening to these 2 cds for about 15 years now and I never get weary of them.

First Reggae Show I ever saw live. 1977, Manhattan, original Maytals, Hux Brown on guitar, full-press 7 member backing band, audience was 95% Jamaican. I thought (no doubt as others on first seeing Mr. Hibbert) That Otis Redding had returned to the planet in the form of this stunning vocalist.

The band started the night by playing the intro for 'Do The Reggay', and when the trio walked out and began singing, I was stone floored.

Pressure Drop......the original

Toots & the Maytals

and here's two covers..........

The Specials

The Clash

I listened to all three quite a bit back in late 70's & early 80's.
This was the start of my going into reggae full time. Having "The Harder They Come" soundtrack & seeing the movie sure did help.
IMO.....The Clash were the last truly great rock n' roll band.

Saturday night June 18th @ SNWMF......thumbs up

Big up.....Toots & the Maytals....The Specials....The Clash....
