I'm confused..is this going to be Bunny's backing band? If so, who will back him at other dates across the US? Is this a financial move on his part?

Re: Bunny dates

had an all day meeting yesterday in salinas.. whats the story with this town ? seen nuff drugged out zombies and street walkers milling about mid-day. had some youngsters set check me while buying some refreshments at a 7-11.
weirdness.. and yet just north in walnut creek you have multi-million dollar homes sitting in the rolling hills.

Now Akee123 has me wondering the same question, I just assumed it would be his usual amazing band coming with him, does anyone know who's backing him? I would like to know before getting tix for SF, no dis to Pure Roots (first Im hearing of them) but part of what makes a Bunny show special is his band, old school harmonies n so much more!

Bunny's band is awesome, but Pure Roots is plenty talented. I saw them back Earl Zero a few months ago at the Sweetwater opening for Harrison Stafford and they were great. I'm terrible with names, but their trombone player alone is worth going to hear, anytime.

Love that reggae!

Bunny's band is the Solomonic Orchestra.

Pure Roots is backing Earl Zero as support on Cali dates.

Jah B at the Catalysts was FLAT OUT the best Bunny show I have seen in decades. Straight up hit after hit, tune upon tune. The band was simply the best. Dwight Pinkney on guitar. Strong, sweet vocals. Everyone played great. Wow.

So glad the sound mix came correct for the headliner. Pure Roots played so well, but the mix for them and Bless King Sound was so horrible that we had to walk around the block (where it sounded even worse). I felt sorry for Earl Zero who was acoustically lost in the mud of the turbo-bass bottom end. This was one case where louder bass did not make the reggae better.

Go see Bunny and his band. Reggae music as it should be.

Yeah, he knocked it out of the park here in Portland. I was a little disappointed in his last appearance at SNWMF, because he seemed to do more Bob covers than anything. But at this show he went through his catalog and played a bunch of my favorite songs "Rastaman", "Blackheart Man", "Dreamland", "Soul Fire", "Ballroom Floor", "Rootsman Skanking", "Cool Runnings", "Dance Rock", "Don Dada", "Ram Dancehall", and many more. The Wailers songs he did do were mostly, if not entirely, from the time that he was part of the goup. Sollomonic Orchestra was brilliant, covering every style of Reggae from ska and early roots to rockers and mid-80s dancehall. Even the two tunes they did before Bunny came on were incredibly sweet. Really loved their cover of Bob and Marcia's "Really Together". The set was kind of short, just over an hour, and they wouldn't come back for an encore. But the show was sweet and Bunny really did all the songs that I wanted to hear most, that's much preferable to going on for a couple of hours and not hearing much that you like.

Not much to add to the above two reviews, other than that the Boston show was equally stellar and we got to enjoy a walk-on cameo from Tosh1 (his youngest son) on "Legalize It.". If anyone knows the other Solomonic musicians besides Dwight P on guitar I'd be interested in hearing who they were. The three-piece horn section were fairly young and quite good.
