Trying to figure our some of the top obscure Ja Labels from the 80's
any suggestions/opinions?

Xterminator and Star Trail i wouldn't really classify as obscure or rare as they each put out a ton of hit records over the years. Maybe not compared to Studio One, Greensleeves, Tuff Gong, etc.... but not rare like say this one:

what constitutes obscure? I'd be hard pressed to consider Star Trail, Xterminator, Stingray, Black Scorpio, Joe Fraser or especially sonic sounds as obscure labels

How about Phase 1 Records? Love the album 'Children of Jah' still to this day...
