this was a 3 hour bbc special that has been chopped down for usa tv...should try to find a copy of the original broadcast, and while youre at it, watch the studio one story and also the 6 hour deep roots music special from londons channel 4. both got it all over this program though this program is pretty decent for american tv.

Another one to check is "Roots, Rock, Reggae : Inside the Jamaican Music Scene" It's now available on DVD, and although it's only an hour long it's crucial! Filmed in the height of the Rockers era 1977!!! Check It!

not deep roots music...not unless youre in the uk and even then its pretty scarce. its basically 6 hours narrated by mikey dread featuring looks inside bunny lees studio with prince jammys on the board and a whole heap of singers including johnny clarke, prince jazzbo, delroy wilson, jackie edwards, etc etc etc and includes jack ruby footage etc. none shown before or since (well maybe a little bit). was a special presentation from channel 4 london in the late 70s and rarely broadcast
