backing band

I have always thought that one of the biggest parts of the reggae portion of the fest is the band. Fully fullwood was great last year. Roots Radics would be a great choice.....does Flabba Holt still play with them? Fabulous 5 was decent a few years ago but I don't think they knew as many riddims as fully does.....

the band that played 2 years ago with Martin Cambell was great...Jah Soldiers?

any ideas or inside info on the search for a band?

looking forward to the festival....

they opened the fest with a great version of Natural Mystic......they were good- i thought fully's band last year was better. radics would be better too.....

OK, the Roots Radics could play there 3 days strait without a headliner, and I would be in the front row!!

radics is not available for hire i dont think. flabba *is* radics at this point, along with sidemen.

fully and crew are great esp when they got horsemouth on board. i would lobby for them or for lloyd parkes we the people band, most famous for backing d brown on many tours and records. sly and robbie would be nice too but if you ask me they are very limited in range. (i know im going to get heat for that statement but if you ask me everything they play sounds like "sponji reggae"winking smiley.

fab five were fab except they majorly stumbled when they attempted to back up niney the observer, i think they didnt know what to expect and niney wasnt used to performing (i think that was a first that he was on stage as a performer). but as for a general thing, fab five know every riddim in the book and play places where they have to exhibit that knowledge 24/7. ever hear their party mix cds? they are something to behold.

here they are, from ernies website. note though, i dont particularly recommend buying them, but they are something to behold. live continuous mix of these tracks, sounding in many cases exactly like the original artist including vocal inflections. personally they make me want to pull out the originals, but they are very impressive if for nothing else than a demonstration of what "versatile" means. gets the gals to wining too...

thanks Jah Bill

I'm assuming the drummer is the only original member. They did do a good job 2 years ago. I just have that Niney performance stuck in my head. i'm with you on Fully and Horsemouth
