If we are just going to the Saturday show, can we camp at the campgrounds on Saturday night?

Hi Sistren,

I'm Ras Mosis, I work for security camp at Sierra Nevada Festa,

and what you have to do if your wanting to camp. You will end up

having to pay extra for one-night camping pass, or you can camp

outside the venue, it's risky though, because of the law enforcement.

The Sheriff's dept. in the area is not the friendliest, eventhough

the venue brings in a whole lot of dough for the local community,

way more than the frog jumping contests they have every year.

Anyway, good luck, I hope to see you there, even if your staying

one night.

Much Luv,
Ras Mosis

I think the answer is no - but hopefully I am wrong! There is camping nearby (See the New Melones posts)...best of luck Sandy!

Curse of the slow typist again - but Ras Mosis has a much more positive response. See you both at the show!

yes ras mosis does have a much more positive response even though it is wrong. it is better to be correct than positive. according to the "camping" info - camping is for 3-day ticket holders only.

Have you guys seen those tiny little frogs?
Re: camping question

Tiny little frogs? Acacia, point em out to I - I love tripping on the surroundings!

I remember one year at Marysville - at like 3:00 AM the first 2 nights, our camp was surprised when this rabbit hopped over and hung out with us for a while - the first night it was just 2 of us left awake - and the next day it was a hazy memory to be sure. After it happened again, we realized we had set up our tent on top of the rabbit's home! (doh!)

We did appoligize....

i think that the campground area gate closes at 8pm if i remember correctly and i guess that would mean you wouldnt be able to camp there cause who would want to leave the concert at 8pm? no one!! hehe i think 25 for one night of a car load of people is worth the no hassles of driving after the show. on the frog issue i remember my first year there camping in the rv area walked to the bathroom at night and the sounds of the frogs were sooo loud i didnt see them but i sure heared them smiling smiley

I've been at the show for years, and I'm telling you that 3-day ticket holders

can purchase a 3-day camping pass, but so can anybody else, all I'm saying is

it will end up being more expensive for the person staying one day, compared

to the person spending the 3-days at the Festa.

Anyway, I think the best response is to be positively correct, which I

believe is my response. Much luv to all positive bredren and sistren, irie

heights!!!

Peace,
Ras Mosis

from the CAMPING page of this SNWMF website:

Camping is not included in the music ticket and is purchased at the gate.
Camping is for 3 Day Ticket Holders Only.

Yeah, but the practical question is: do they ask too see your 3 day ticket before selling you the camping ticket?

There are rules and then there are rules that are enforced to some degree.

They obviously dont want people coming in there and buying camping and having a party and not buying a ticket to the festival.

I would trust that the security guy knows what hes talking about.

It makes sense that it would be for 3-day ticket holders, but why

can't anybody purchase the camping? , you still need a 3-day ticket

to get inside the main area of the venue, the camping area is seperate

from the actual event area, there are fences and gates inbetween

The shows go very late into the evening and some people don't

want to be driving home after a long day of dancing and being in the

hot sun. I guess the only way to find out what the scene will be like,

is show up and hope for the best.

Give Thanks,

it doesn't need to make sense to you, man. i think you should stop confusing the issue and refer people to the information on the website or to the festival personnel.

says the same thing i posted above on the TICKETS info page of this website:

Camping for 3 Day Music Ticket Holders Only - Camping Paid at the Gate.

Ras Moises.

If you attended this festival while it was in Marysville, then the reason for this rule should be self-evident. People who were not 3-day ticket holders could get into the camping area. The result was that people were getting robbed (and worse) by non-festival goers.

Well, I'll tell you about when I saw the frogs..

A few years ago I woke up early in the morning and unzipped my tent. On the tarp outside were about 10-15 tiny tiny frogs jumping across the tarp and into the grass. They were each about the size of a fingernail, dark green. They all jumped across and into the grass and I never saw one again. I know I was not dreaming. Very cute.

acacia - let me get this down. you spent the day listening to reggae, doing what people do when they listen to reggae. you came back to your camp and proceeded to party some more. went to sleep. woke up and saw frogs. ok.

DubGuy,
Did you follow the rabbit down the hole?
Is that how you get to wonderland?
J/K, I believe you....rabbits are pretty commonplace in a field environment.
Especially if your camping over their home.
Now at SNWMF in 2001 I went with a broken arm in a brace and a sling, it was supposed to be 4 more weeks til I could do anything with it. I was meditating and praying on it all weekend, when I went to bed Sat. night a voice told me when I wake up in the morning to take my brace off and I will be healed. Sure nuff the next morning I removed it, and the bruising and swelling had left and I was fully recovered, I gave praise and danced the day away, lifting my arms to the music. Now that one is a little harder to believe but true!! Praise Jah!

What is the Magik Palace?
In 2001 I swear I saw a lion in the sky and my mind was open to a higher level. Of course i had some help earlier in the day, but when I saw it, I was only slightly intoxicated. I felt a feeling I never felt before like a thousand angels singing. Made me pack up my stuff and travel in the name of Jah. But the inspired feeling only lasted till end of summer and then I feel like I have been searching for my soul ever since. Can any of I send it home?

Sista Sanae,
These signs are sent by the almighty to help us remember that he is real and that he is there and he is with us, so easily we forget what it feels like when it hits your soul and his spirit takes over you. When in doubt I alway look back to these times when the light has hit me directly and it comforts me. Because at those times you don't need wise words, religion, or a method of getting there. You have it all and the cup overflows

Thank you Forwardization and Ras Mosis. I am hoping that I once again can feel comforted. I agree with you when you say"Because at those times you don't need wise words, religion, or a method of getting there. You have it all and the cup overflows". True dat.
