Just got HDTV and it is a whole nother level. WEatched LeBron and Carmello last night go at it. LeBron is just coming into his Man Strength which takes most men until about 35 to reach, that guy is going to be unstoppable. Blazers are my squad, we are soft right now, but the 2nd youngest squad in the league. We start the youngest backcourt in NBA history right now with Telfair(20) and martell Webster(19). I think Randolph is our veteran and he is a whopping 24. Next year we should be top 3 in the lottery look for us to add the 2nd coming of Larry Legend in Gonzaga's Adam Morrison.

Kings all the way. I don't even care anymore whether or not they're the best in the West. I think we made a big mistake with Chris Webber now with the 76ers. But
Bonzi Wells and Abdur Rahim as add ins--Yes. Like I said I'm a fan. But still the Spurs or Suns in the West: Detriot, Miami, maybe even the 76ers in the East.

Blazers looked good last night in winning their second in a row. Has anyone read the book "The Jump: Sebastian Telfair and the High Stakes World of High School Basketball"? It is a very good book so far, I am about half way through, it makes you take another look at what is going on out there.
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 27, 2005 05:35PM
still. and always. lakers.
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 27, 2005 05:54PM
dang, my wiz kids put a beat down on the lakers last nite. Kobe blew it!!!

but the real story in DC sports is Joe Gibbs and The Washington Redskins returning back to glory.
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 27, 2005 06:45PM
Kobe Sucks and I don't care if he scores 60+ he sucks.
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 27, 2005 06:52PM
i don't like the guy either, but i must admit i like watchin him play. i mean the best two teams in the league (Det vs San Antone) play first and nobody cares. and then its the shaq/riley vs kobe/phil show and the ratings go through the roof.

i can't really explain it? i guess people enjoy the drama
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 27, 2005 06:55PM
yeah, he is one of the few players who really get's under my skin, he has game, but he sucks.
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 27, 2005 07:05PM
who's better Wade or Kobe???

wade is definitely much cooler, but Kobe is gonna win you championships imo
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 27, 2005 07:06PM
being paired with shaq that is
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 27, 2005 07:14PM
Well, so far it is Kobe....3 championships vs. none....Hopefully it will change...
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 27, 2005 07:17PM
Kobe only won titles because he was with Shaq. The supporting cast he has now is just as good as the one he had on those teams with Shaq and still NOTHING. Tomorrow I would take Wade.
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 27, 2005 07:28PM
That is pure crazyness to think that Kobe had the same caliber of supporting players last year and this year as he did with the Lakers when they were unstopable. During those years, Shaq spent a lot of time on the bench with toe injuries, etc...Kobe and the rest of the team still got them to the Playoffs and Finals. I am not a big Lakers Fan, and would like to see The Heat do well, but the Lakers were sick in their hayday, without Shaq......
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 27, 2005 07:40PM
Toni Kukoc was my all-time fav but he never gave his maximum in NBA... Ive seen him for the first time in Jugoslavia junior team, when he was 16 old.
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 27, 2005 07:49PM
I saw tony play the other nite, never realized how big that guy was til i saw him in person.

but he was money when he played for the bulls
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?

"but he was money when he played for the bulls"

He played strictly what the coach told him, and his role (like the rest of other Bulls players) was to make more place for Jordan.

The Blazers are the real joke Ninjacat, the only team that lives up to it's name.

Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 28, 2005 12:27AM
420 - you gotta include the sacramento queens in there too.

Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 28, 2005 05:35PM
420- come with some new material those guys are all gone, and I am sure that the Blazer players were the only one's in the league to smoke herb.

Pale- You have to be outta of your mind to think that the Lakers win a title without Shaq. Playoffs, yes for sure, those teams were still good teams without Shaq, but champions, no WAY. They wouldn't have gotten past the Blazers. The first title that they won they were down 14 going into the 4th against the Blazers and it took all they had to get past them and that meant both Kobe and Shaq at the top of their game. Unfortunetly for us that is exactly what happened.
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 28, 2005 11:59PM
NinjaMagic,
I agree that they would not have won the finals without Shaq, but the team was very well rounded. Remember Robert Hory? Teams win Championships, not single players. Why do you think Allen Iverson has such a hard time getting there, or how bout Tracey McGrady? A single player can push you over the top, but without role players, you aint got nada but showboating....But I am sure you know this.......
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 29, 2005 01:47AM
There is a paradox re Tony Kukoc. While in Europe, he played NBA basketball at its best, as he was real, one and only succesor of Magic Johnson. When he finaly came to Bulls, he get completely lost. He became the shadow of the player who, amongst other things, decided games as a rule and never missed key points. Not to mention beauty of his plays, comparable only to those of Magic. Pitty that NBA crowd never had a chance to see real Kukoc. Worse, with constant and drastical lowering of the quality of the game in USA, public is now doomed to second rate European players and natives with lot of muscles and small brains, who became stars as judges tolerate their fouls, traveling violations et coetera. I mean, people a la Shaq cannot play normal basketball. They have to much muscles, to much kilos.
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 29, 2005 02:12AM
dont forget about the dwayne wade's, kobe bryant's, kevin garnett's, gilbert arenas', lebron james', carmello anthonies, ect ect ect ect's of the league. u tellin me they can't play????????

why do you think kukoc sucked as soon as he got to the nba?
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 29, 2005 03:46PM
Agree completelly with Lavco on Tony.

"They have to much muscles, to much kilos.

And no brains at all.

since when were athletes upheld to some sort of academic standard?
Re: OT - anybody here are NBA fans?
December 29, 2005 05:02PM
many colleges/universities ( maybe not all? )
do pay attention and adhere to academic standards.

from the Boston Globe

Nine of the 16 schools that mysteriously had no graduation rate whatsoever just happen to include last year's most hideous offenders, such as:

Alabama (0 percent for black men and 13 percent overall in the 2002 report).

Cincinnati (0 percent for black men, 17 percent overall).

Louisville (0 for black men, 10 percent overall).

Kentucky (13 percent and 33 percent overall).

Southern Illinois (14 percent for black men and 27 percent overall).

Memphis (0 period).

Nevada (0 percent for black men, 20 percent overall).

Virginia Commonwealth (0 period).

Alabama State (0 period).

Whoa Sac Queens. The Sacramento Monarchs are reigning WNBA champions. And those Kings Shag (I still love Shaq) refers to were one three made by the Lakers from the NBA finals and twice Pacific Division champions.
