Morning Penny, any idea who plays trombone on Mudie's recut of Eastern Standard Time (Moodisc, 1975)? Don D jnr perhaps? Nice tune, though it can't touch the original.

couple more shuffling don titles i'd like to mention [both for coxsone] 'schooling the duke' & 'the shock'.

plus a next 'blues blasters' which doesn't credit him on the label but sounds like it features d d lion first in line on soloing duties - 'pine juice' ...and isn't that him vamping on prince busters tune[!] 'seven duppys'? it's the burru style which makes me think so.

and one more thing, i love the way the original ja treasure label credits the flip of techniques 'you don't care' as 'don on bond street', instead of the more familiar 'down...'

best regards to all & happy new year to bother ringo and jah reel

"Far East" has to be my fave all time Don D followed by "Machine Shop".
"Far East" is genius!!
"Silver Dollar" for me, holds one of his best solos.

Reel- Can we view your top 100 instrumentals you talk of ?

One love.
