Groundation- Dub Wars
January 06, 2006 10:43AM
To honor the 77th birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Young Tree records will be doing an early online release of Groundation's DUB WARS on Sunday, January 15. This album will be their first compact disc of original Dub versions. Taken from their albums Hebron Gate and We Free Again, DUB WARS reveals the depth and scope of the Groundation sound. This is a second performance by the engineers (Jim Fox and Marcus Urani) of previously recorded material rearranged with effects and stereo spacing. DUB WARS highlights the individual voices within the music some of which was never used on the final album version.

The album can be purchased starting January 15th at <www.youngtreerecords.com>

DJ's your copies have been sent.

I don't know. I was just talking about that tonight with Harrison. I guess it's up in the air with the new booking person at The Belly Up. If I were you I'd put on the pressure. They certainly aren't trying to stay away from you guys. I really do hope they'll get some dates down there. If so, maybe I can get down there and we can hook up with RasSmoka and hang.

Hey tahoe, judging by the 950 people that turned out for their last show in Cruz during the same week as Damian and Anthony B the night before, I'd say you're right. It's on!!!!! Santa Cruz massive definitely has Groundation's back.

yeah...fuckin jeff gaulton blew it down there at the bellyup. i hear he was part owner in this club up in eugene and they started callin themselves bellyup eugene. the bellyup owners found out and fired his ass down here. he brought a lot of reggae into the bellyup...i dont understand why they wouldnt want to bring groundation back...last time they were there they got pretty close to selling the place out...if they didn't...

another spot they might wanna check down here is canes....its down in mission beach and is way nicer than winstons or blind melons...its cool...right on beach on the boardwalk.
