the version of hortense ellis' "woman of the ghetto" has an intro voice saying: "donw here in the ghetto we know the horror of the guns, we wear the scars of violence, son. turn in your guns. on the excellent "kingston 14" by the dub syndecate/g.isaacs where this vocal has been sampled i always believed to hear big youth's voice. now as i hear it sanding alone on the universal/souljazz 12" re-print i'm not sure anymore. is it big youth or somebody else? really nice versions on this 12"!
