just recently i've pulled out some ras michael & the sons of negus, having not checked his style in some time. i started listening to his lp revelation and track one is called "black vibes"; i've always loved this track. so i listen to that track by itself, decide i want to play that track on my show, then put it in my record bag. literally about 10 minutes later i am checking some music i just got in from ernie b (yippee) and there is a michael prophet tune on a teams 10" called "get on board" and it is using the black vibes rhythm (if indeed that is the name of the rhythm, i have no idea). i would love to know if anyone knows of any other cuts on this same rhythm? i was surprised at how well they mixed together, better than i was expecting, i guess. any help with this rhythm is very much appreciloved!
