Prince Buster's boxing career?

I've seen him do a few boxing moves on stage and I have read that he used to protect Downbeat.

Is there anything to add to his boxing career I wonder - other than the boxing-inspired tunes?

Yes he was a boxer before becoming a singer, and you are correct that he served as protection for Downbeat, and thus how he got his start in music.

If I can find it I will post it, but I have an interview with Prince Buster, by Rodigan, where he talks about it.
