How did Prince Buster do his sampling?

Does anyone here know how Buster did the apparent sampling on 'Independence '65' (and probably others too - Like how was that noise on 'Trip to Mars' made?).

I did try searchiung there but was unable to find anything other than a debate about whether rapper's delight was the first song that utilised sampling as a technique.
