Tone-wise & stylistically, if I was to name McCook's biggest single influence
on tenor saxophone, it would be Stan Getz.

I've noticed how Jamaican horn players did not, for the most part, try to develop the
harder tonalites and rougher sound of R&B soloists in America---they went for
a softer & more melodic approach.
