I couldn't agree with you more shaunsta. I've been lobbying to have them at SNWMF for the past 4 years now, but I guess I just don't have the same kind of pull that Jack Abramoff has ....

Indubitably the best live band to come out of the UK scene. I first saw them in 1976 and the Tyson brothers, Walford and Delvin, remain the best double act I have ever seen in the reggae field. The band had a tough, tight but raw sound and made a lot of noise. Their songs were strident, militant but tuneful too on classics like 'Oh Wicked Man, 'Sodom And Gommorah', 'Six One Penny' and 'See Them A Come'. In their army fatigues and with flailing locks, they were at their best onstage and their electricity was amazing.

Did they play the Bob Marley Festival in SF last year? If not everyone up here is in for a treat. I had the pleasure of seeing them last year in Long Beach and they were killer. I can verify that Daniel was consumed with bliss as he snapped photos from the pit. I'd love to see them at Sierra just once to get that outdoor vibe. I've had enough Steel Pulse......GIVE ME MIR!!!!!!!!

jahboo, i can try to help in a minimal way with the following suggestions...
it may work?

MIR's official site is at [www.mistyinroots.ws]
scout it out and see what may be helpful there?

i man honor site is at <[littlemunk.com] mistyinroots>
this is an unofficial site and it is a link off their official site. :-)
there is a message board there and i know that peeps from MIR do occasionally
read and may even post there. you will find the email address of the web administrator of MIR also. s/he has emailed me personally in the past but i have
not heard as of late.
the last time i knew is that their manager's name was ian...

hey star, virginia ( is it eastern VA? ) is not aqll that far from ooHIGHoo?

i think misty over sweden has it all over countereurovision. it was only recorded a couple weeks off the other one but the playing is tighter and the sound is better. song selection is much the same with only a couple differences from memory.

These days M.I.R. aren't the band that were in the 70s/early 80s.
Don't sound the same at all.
Re: Misty in Roots
January 30, 2006 04:34PM
Well, the only experience I had to hear Misty In Roots was at the Bob Marley Day festivals in Long Beach and San Diego last year, and they sure sounded similar live to what they threw down on the Eurovision and Live over Sweden albums from that era.

The stream below starts off with the first song ever performed live in the United States by Misty and Roots, and there is also another MIR song (from Rototom 2005) that starts just after the 1:07 mark....
