Chancery Lane

Woke up this day seeking my honest pay
Woke up early today seeking my own way
I have to hustle around the town
I prefer it this way
That is why I am there today
Seeking my honest pay

My place is on North Parade
That's where the hits are made
My headquarters on Chancery Lane
This is where I feel the strain
On Chancery Lane
This is where I use my brain
I have to hustle in town
I love the life on Chancery Lane
Although it gives me pain
I can't make my little self strain
On Chancery Lane
This is where I feel the strain
That's why I am here today
Seeking my own way

I have to hustle around the town
I prefer it this way
That is why I am there today
Seeking my honest pay

And if you walk any of these corners you're struck by how humble they are.

Yep there is, on the album of the same name (Greensleeves label). Not a very interesting album though.

Chancery Lane

Woke up this day counting my client's pay
Woke up early today in my jurisprudent way
I have to bustle around the town
I prefer to wear my wig this way
That is why I am there today
Counting my client's pay

My place is the Old Bailey
That's where the hits are made
My headquarters on Chancery Lane
This is where I feel the strain
On Chancery Lane
This is where I use my brain
I have to bustle in town
I love the life on Chancery Lane
Although it gives me pain
I can't make my little self strain
On Chancery Lane
This is where I feel the strain
That's why I am here today
Seeking my own way

I have to bustle around the town
I prefer it this way
That is why I am there today
Counting my client's pay
