St Croix / Riddims

I am trying to work with a friend of mine in regards to grouping and identifying riddims that are originating out of the St Croix reggae scene.

The Culturennium I and II comps provided tracks using the same riddims over various artists.

Does anyone have any info or sources to identify and label this information. Any help would be greatly appreciated and will be glad to share whatever info we come up with.

Thanks for your help, the more heads the better.

There is also the SPM records release "Wake Up Call", which is a single riddim compilation as well.

For the most part, STX doesn't play the "riddim game" (thank god - IMO). Other than the Black Star Liner II and Wake Up Call albums, I am not aware of the names of other riddims that have multiple voicings on them.....

midnite, niyorah, dezarie, abja, ikaba, also share same riddims on LET LIVE, A DIFFERENT AGE, RED I HOUR, TRODDIN TO ZION, GRACIOUS MAMA AFRICA, FYA, and INTENSE PRESSURE. Also batch, ras attitude, and mada nile share same riddims.

I believe the two riddims on Culturellenium II are called "Blazin" and "Wildfire," both produced by Batch on the SoundV.I.zion label. Neither one are slow or boring by any standard.

Listen for yourself: [www.vireggae.com]

Come check the Green-Up set tomorrow night to hear Yahadanai getting over the Blazin riddim, and some other specials straight outta Cruz...
