Sold Out? Isnt Matisyahu on this billing?

If so, that explains everything...the new king has arrived.

Rhythmwize are you serious?

Hey, its hard to argue with success.

Looks to me like he's the "king" of ticket sales, selling out festivals right and left.

I wonder if Warren is comtemplating booking him at SNWMF?

Sellout for sure...LOL

Who are the people that are buying all the tickets to see this guy?

Are these your traditional reggae festival and concert patrons?

Or are these people something complete different?

Havent yet seen a description of the people who are going ape-sh*t over this guy.

I would much rather see GentleMan.....However, it seems as though some people on this site that have some creditability really dig this cat. Maybe a day slot for him?
Re: Interview with Gentleman

It would be a smart move to bring Matisyahu to SNWMF this year. He doesn't have to headline.

Having his name on the bill would bring thousands of people up from the Bay Area to Boonville, who might otherwise never attend the festival, helping to ensure that the festival survives this move and thrives for years to come.

Its not like bringing Shaggy in to sell tickets, as Matisyahu brings a conscious vibe, and wouldn't clash with the ideals of the majority of the supporters of this festival.

Then again, I can see him fitting the bill for ROTR more than SNWMF.

I look forward to catching his performance tonight in Santa Cruz and Saturday in SF to see if the man can deliver. Respect, MK

.....................................

LOL, I dont think he's my cup of tea either based on the video clip I saw plus what I read, but i guess I might be interested to see what all the hulabaloo is all about with this artist.

He's only one artist out of many and if he can result in a sellout of tickets so that the festival can be a major financial sucess, them I'm all for it. Lets face it, a lot of this vintage and somewhat obscure artists really don't draw a significant audience, so its a small price for all of us to pay to have these popular artists perform and bring in the money...so the festival can afford these other artists, right?

Im out,
john

To his credit Matisyahu brought up Gentleman for a duet during his set. I'm not familiar enough with Matis' material to tell you which song.
I agree with you that Gentleman rocked the house.
Re: Interview with Gentleman

Matisyahu also did a combination with Micael Franti (hello bonjour) in san francisco which can be heard here:
