Their current tour brings them to a local casino, same night in St. Louis as Matisyahu, who is playing a 2400 seat venue. Glad to hear they can still get it on; last two times I saw them it was debilitating if not demoralizing---on pure cruise control. A certain sign of that from any act/any genre, is when said act does a medley of what used to be their most crucial material.

Long ago--'81, '82??, I promoted them for their first show in town,& I believe it wuz their 1st american tour, one station-wagon, w/ trailer behind, and it was potent. All the material came off 'handsworth' , w/ the band stretching out inna fine dubby way. 750 people attended, they walked off happy w/ an ital meal under their belt, having made the guarantee plus a door %. Honestly, after True Democracy it wuz downhill fo' me. I hope their lives are good....

If Jah Levi does anymore shows with this lineup I would suggest checking it, Ronnie Stepper original Pulse bass teamed with Horsemouth.

Fill me in there Stamina, Mongoose? Not familiar, I'd like to hear him play again. Levi shows last summer had Stepper, Horsemouth, Vince Black was in the mix too at the show we warmed up for.

I saw one of the Groundation shows with Horsemouth, it was interesting.

Mongoose: LA based reggae band led by a Moroccan (I believe) Sephardic Jew. I've been told since I posted that they may have broken up. Where were those Levi shows?

Puff and Relax.........nice

As well as the Eugene show I know they were playing a festy in the Ashland area the next night and headlining the Seattle Hemp fest too. I think they did some California gigs as well. The lineup at the show I saw was really tough, I was very impressed, Levi, Horsemouth, Stepper, Vince, Ras Menelek. Levi says he recorded over 100 songs with Horsemouth at his studio.
