california is not like other states...

in most states.. you go to jail for a joint as a felony!
but things are changing

Maybe people go to jail for short amounts of time, but I don't know of any state where simple possession of a small amount is a felony. Never had to worry since i'm not an herb smoker, but I checked up on Norml's list of laws by state, seems you have to be in possession of a lot in most states to be up for felonies. Peace.

To even compare possesion of herb to a rape charge is ludicrous. Seems "Your a Retard" makes the most sense to me regarding this whole thread.
Re: women beware anthony b
April 11, 2006 06:40PM
that was not the comparison. They were saying you souldn't callt he po po cause you might be holding, which seems equally rediculous.

Empress I cannot imagine a DA going after someone for having a dime or something like that cause I can't think of a state that wants to foot the bill to prosecute and hold someone for this offense alone.

very few if any states prosecute minor possession as a felony. i would almost wager that none do but there could be one or two still i suppose. certainly not "most".

I inquired of a female dancehall promoter in NYC about this thread, and she replied:

<<I didn't have to read it.
THAT FOOL MADE A NASTY PASS at me few years ago.
Lights out for his @$$...>>

...this from a woman who is very savvy to such f***ery, told me that Frisco Kid's career was ruined because of a lie some gal made up that he raped her, and defends Jah Cure as wrongly convicted...

...yes it's more hearsay, but there seems to be a body of evidence building...

Stamina, if you're talking about who I think you are, I would tend to trust her word on that. Very professional woman, and nice to deal with as well. Peace.

Don't recall altdoll saying rape, only that they had sex. That's a strong word and nobody really knows what happened. Woman need to be cautious with any man, person, but nobody is perfect.

krsi kris kris I must ask you to explain what "nobody is perfect means" IF (and this is a big IF) that means that being a rapist is a charchter flaw then you need to retire preferably to place without human beings. IF you meant something else then I apologize in advance.

Meek,, some people just like a person even after they commit a serious or a petty crime,, so maybe times and places are not displayed because they still do not want the individual to get into serious trouble but infact want's to warn the next batch of women that may come across such a person , if they do infact have the intention of such.. Si mi? , Neither you or I know what really went down but there must be some truth to some of it.. starting that she met him ,, who know's what else is true... get mi ?
Re: women beware anthony b

Although we've all agreed that agressive consntual sex is not the same as rape regarding the Duke Lacrosse Team and the accusations it was discussed why a woman would report a false rape charge and what percentage did. Saw on the news last night that there are four reasons one would file a false accusation:

1. alibi
3. attention
3. revenge
4. money

Other than that, no one wants to go through a police interrogation and a rape kit for nothing, if one says it happened, more than likely it did. More than not get off unless there is semen and even a lowlife rapist is smart enough to use a condom. The fact that the student moonlighting as a stripper was in a danger zone to start lets you know how deviant this whole thing is. Our media always shows strippers as getting respect...I followed some friends to a strip joint on Route 1 in Saugus,MA back in the late 70's it was scary to think how these men turned into disgusting savages and the guards had to keep pulling people away from the stage. I'd never seen such a circus in my life, nor did I ever return.

Perhaps setting the stage for more enlightened conduct would help.

All these conscious artist working for labels that produce semi-pornographic figures of ladies dancing...shame shame shame!

We're totally desensitized now with music videos and ladies bumping and grinding as a popular pasttime, no longer underground now mainstream. What next?

One Love,
Anna

thanks for the thought provoking discussion

Alright, let's all be real here... We all know about the groupie love scene, it's nothing new. People like Jim Morisson, Julio Iglesias as well as many others have been accused of rape. Fact is, there are alot of women who don't ras-pect their bodies and use their sex appeal as a tool to get what they want out of men of power and status.

When a big name comes across a million different women on tour, and most are willing to give it all up, what do you think he expects from every hottie that crosses his path. After so many women throwing themselves at his feet, his ego reaches such a high point where "NO" is not even a word in the vocabulary anymore. It's not only Anthony B or reggae artists for that matter. When Mike Tyson was at his best, he couldv'e gotten practically any woman he wanted and he got alot. He finally came across one who apparently couldn't decide whether she wanted to make "groupie love" with him. "NO" was not in his vocab anymore and therefore he took the situation in his own hands, literally.

Who knows if the woman that accused him and won ,actually plotted the whole scenario? maybe someone else was involved and planned the whole thing as well. With fame comes MONEY, and there are lot's of have-nots and few haves. Look at Koby Bryant's sitch, the female hotel worker flirts with Koby, then offers to go upstairs to his HOTEL ROOM for a massage. Who's gonna say she didn't insiduosly lead him on? Again, Koby is a powerful image with lot's of fame and money. He also has a wife and kids who he was in jeopardy of losing.

Fortunately for him, the accuser's lack of integrity was exposed, but that's not always the case. Remember, when the ego reaches peak levels, "NO" doesn't exist. Stars start to believe they are only inches away from being "the ALMIGHTY"
himself. My advice to all you "so called naive women" , if play too close to the fire,
you will get burned. Even 5 year old children I talk to know dis, it's a basic fact.
Learn it, re-learn if you somehow forgot, your self-worth , spirtual, mental and physical well-being are truly at stake. If you like artists and want to get close, be smart and bring someone who values your spirit and holds you accountable and in the highest integrity.

We all are prone to giving in to our animal instincts, but at the end of the day what seprates us humans from animals? Accountability to ourselves and more importantly to JAH. It's a hard lesson learned sistas, but as my great-grandfather
used to say;" A wise person learns from other's mistakes, an average-minded person learns from their own mistakes, and a truly dumb person never learns from anybodies mistakes and dies an idiot. Much LUV to all SNWMF crew.

Yes anna well said,, but doll did not say rape,, She said he forced her to have sex w/o a condom or had briuised by trying to push him off from that ,, so when you take a deeep look into the situation analaysing it.. it very well can be consented agreement, or understanding up untill that point when things get a slight turn.. What you think? , Think on that point!

yes there are women out there who will say they have been taken advantage of, or raped, when the whole thing was confusing and unintentional. but it seems to me that the post was all about a warning, not a condemnation, i get the feeling like altdoll realized that she made a mistake (which she certainly did), and was just urging others to be careful. how about instead of jumping on her that we just be aware of whats going on, and try not to let anything else happen that might make any women feel abused.

respect to altdoll, and to anthony b for real
Re: women beware anthony b

As far as what is 'rape' and what isn't, in my opinion, and I would suspect most women, at any point a man is asked by a partner to use protection, refuses to do so, causing his partner to change her mind and then decides to use force to complete the act of sex. I still call that rape. That situation starts out consensual and ends up not consensual and once a man penetrates against a woman's will, I think legally that would be rape and still carries the emotional consequences to the victim.

Ninjacat, when I wrote, "Woman need to be cautious with any man, person, but nobody is perfect." I wrote nobody is perfect, meaning that InI as all women may have been in situations where we may or may not have used good judement. Most women would love to have a hot reggae superstar loving them, and want to hear sweet things said to make feel special, and it's easy to get weak to a man, so that's all I was saying. But let's not have happen to Anthony B as what happened to Jah Cure, so I was saying that "rape" is a strong word and people have to be carefull, especially if no one knows what happened for sure.
Re: women beware anthony b
April 14, 2006 04:59PM
ok before im deemed a bastard let me 1st say that the Police is where you should go if you feel you was raped.. not a message board. Not only could anyone say they was pressured to having sex with someone famous, such as i was raped by madonna last year or whatever... but it does nothin but raise suspecion's which even though they may be true, will more then likely be brushed aside. And im not sayin it didn't happen, but most rape victim's go the emergency room & police and have the rapist arrested... if you didnt do that, chances are nothing will ever become of the situation and not only that, but you set up other women for it to happen to because you have not the courage to stand up to the attacker in this case it is suggested that anthony B is the rapist. This is also another one of those situation's where you shoulda known better then to go there with him..there was time inbetween the clothes and the condom where you coulda made it perfectly clear you didnt want to have sex with him. Im not sayin it's your own fault for gettin raped, but i am sayin it's your fault if you do nothing about it. even if i sound like a ******* for sayin it. I don't support rape nor do i support rapist's, i don't even support havin sex out of wedlock so i might be back in the day in my thought's so said so done but none the less, if it happened and you choose to do nothin about it, it's concensual..ruff sex never = rape...you shoulda never went back there, and deep down you shoulda known better..not callin you stupid or whatever, but what did u think was gonna happen?? anyways...if it did happen, im sorry that it did happen, and i encourage you to take a step against what did happen so that this don't happen to other's if in fact it did happen. hope i come across clear within my intentions here. bless

tru dat sis. agreed,, only thing,, some women fail to say it untill after the fact, because I BET you if she had mentioned anything like RAPE to him while he was forcing her or asking her to do it againt her will if it indeed happen this way than we would not be having this phorum in the first place... he probably thought she liked it that way ,, If it indeed happened at all..

because if you educate your self on a topic yu check facts, did you know the cops did the line up for the witness(victim) in the street? (not a legal move).did you know that jah cures lawer sabatoged his case by not showing up for the court day.and so on and so on.Why would people try to set up these artists? in cures instance bobo rasta which cure represented at the time, were and are fighting drugs and the grimy drug dealers in kingston. who suplys the drugs and guns to theses places. could it be the same people concocting stories and trying to ruin the ritious name.(NOT THE GOVERNMENT IM SURE) . which such a claim of one of the most hidious acts a man can perform will definately do. i know it may be hard for many to overstand but the government are tricky and do bad things to good people search for the truth. So no not because "he sings prety songs". BLESS UP THE MOTHERS OF THE EARTH EVERY MAN COME FROM A WOMBAN. MORE LOVE MORE LIFE... SELASSIE I GUIDE.

Still making out, consensual sex & rape are different things, doe. Rumers and chat are what turns consensual sex into rape when concerning Jah Cure & Anthony B. Different peeps but still, nobody there to peep that.

Re: women beware anthony b
April 18, 2006 09:27PM
I think there is a lot of point to the discussion that's gone on in this thread. The cautionary tales could really be helpful for women. Women shouldn't be silent if they've experienced abuse. People talk about other things behind the scenes, their experience with bands , sheisty promoters etc. etc. that can't always be substantiated- so what's the dif? The truth will eventually out. If it's not true, fine- there's not much harm that will come to Anthony B. If it is( which I'm inclined to think it is) he'd best reform himself because if he continues the behavior it's rather likely that sooner or later he will encounter a woman that WILL bring in the police, lawyers. judges etc. and she probably will not post...
