Musically-
I top 5 are:
1. Gentleman
2. Dezarie
3. Midnite
4. Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra
5. Ras Michael

I really vibe off the energy of the audience. gentleman had InI up in the heights! Dezarie come true with serious fyah and power, Midnite is so upful and rough with the reasonings, TSPO I think would take spot #1 for I if there were a bigger audience. those guys have the potential to light the crowd on fyah and should be moved to an 8:30 slot next year fe sure. then, of course Ras Michael always brings I right back to the heartbeat of RasTaFarI.
Blessed love....
Re: Top 5 Performances

1) Beres Hammond (what a band!)
2) Dezarie
3) Brigadier Jerry/Carlton Livingston
4) Gentleman (though band was rough)
5) Femi Kuti

The band backing up Beres/Marcia/Maxi/etc. was the highlight of the entire festival for I. As world-class as they come! I'd never seen Beres perform before, and his stage energy was incredible. I saw Dezarie last year on Midnite's tour, and was thrilled to see her so quickly coming into her own as one of the most powerful fyah-burning Rastawomen to ever grace a microphone. Brigadier Jerry and Carlton Livingston brought forth the conscious dancehall style I-man love the best. (BJ could use better manners than to use the word "faggot" but as long as he's not preaching violence this Yankee Rasta won't condemn him.) Gentleman was highly-anticipated, and he delivered, though the band didn't seem to have the feel for his songs. (Many songs were played at such a rushed tempo Gentleman couldn't even keep up, and the fumbled lyrics were lost on the audience.) Femi Kuti and his band were very righteous-- both his message and his vibe demonstrate that Afrobeat is, in a sense, reggae with less Europe and more Africa.

I'm a Dancehall fanatic so I HAVE to say that the Dancehall sets RULED, specially with Downbeat, Briggy, Carlton, then Stonelove, and Briggy the next night. Surprise for me was Midnite, Tokyo Ska seems to have made many lists, Gentleman was to be expected, Femi was awesome, and as always, 'Bernie Spear', hahaha....and I am biased towards the Don, 'cause I tour with him.....anyway, here is my list:
1. Dancehall sets, ALL of them, even the local dudes
2. Midnite
3. Tokyo Ska
4. Gentleman
5. Don Carlos
6. All the rest
7. Pepper. Anybody who took Pepper seriously, I have to say, LIGHTEN UP PEOPLE!!!
