just like some people with English accents, some pronounce it where it isn't, and don't pronounce it where it is.

like referring to Ansel Collins as "Hansel"

and instead of "hard" it's just "'ard"

A Jamaican who "a look heil" is not a nazi, his car just needs a quart or two of 10-30W...
Americans more often than not seem to call me "'erb"...
Jamaicans seem to know how to pronounce my name..."Herb" with a hard "H"...as in "de 'ola herb"
(O well...I've been called worse...)

This is a Jamaican vocal peculiarity; nothing to do with Rastas.
