My wife and I always stay at a hotel in Ukiah most likely for the same reasons the girls wish to. The drive isn't all that bad and often people will car pool. For instance, I want to see every act and be at the festival from start to finish. My wife isn't so intense and I sometimes split up with her catching a later ride. I know many here will tell you that if you don't camp you'll miss out onby ScottiB - SNWMF Phorum 2013

Wow, what a shock this morning. I knew Diane had her share of health issues but I still didn't expect this. I got the news as I was downloading photos I took at a show last night and as I was getting ready to travel to San Diego for the festival there. Thanks, we're going! The line up and warm San Diego weather were just too much of a draw. You guys on the coast don't know how good you have it. We bought tix to the show and have the flight booked. I look forward to seeing a few SNWMF friends in the crowd and making new ones. We plan on staying a few days, now to track down record shops and other gigs.by ScottiB - SNWMF Phorum 2013

I'm having a hard time waiting for SNWMF so I'm considering going to Tribute To The Legends in San Diego to get my fix until June. I've never been, can anyone give me any pointers? Where to stay? Do I need a car or is t like San Francisco? Are there other shows going on in the days before or after? Is it a bigger crowd, smaller? Many thanks for any advice. Guess he's too humble to say anything, but the guy you mention who played with Blue Riddim band is Jimmy Becker. He played on many tunes while living in JA. Many of these were recorded at the legendary Channel One and many released on the Wellcharge label. I recently had the honour to hear both Jimmy Becker and Charlie Organaire on stage together with Stranger Cole. I really hope some one filmeby ScottiB - SNWMF Phorum 2013

Yes Wellcharge and Evan, what a great weekend. I even got to go see the Pinstripes do an early show before the Stranger Cole show. Including the DJ set at The Late Bar, I went to five shows in four days at four different venues, got to see artists I had never seen before and saw wonderful old friends and made new ones. The line up at Wildfire (Ruta Maya) looks great. Kinda wish we had made plans to drive down! Some of our friends from up here are playing.
