Quotewestafari Maybe "boom draw." maybe???? That's funny. Julian Marley's biggest hit, Boom Draw, isn't even the best song of that same name by all of the artists that will be at ROTR. How in the world is he headlining? Damian or Stephen I could see, but Julian doesn't have the popularity or the catalog to deserve that spot.by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Quotepapaken at least it's not oh, anybody else! My first though on seeing this thread was please, please, please don't let it be Max Romeo!by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Not my cup of tea but I think those bands fit in this festival just fine. I'm all for them being booked. Those acts bring crowds and money to the festival. That in turn allows the festival to bring in more quality reggae artists each year. I count 23 reggae performances that I would like to see this year. Unfortunately, Damian Marley is the only one of those artists who has close to the draw thatby niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
SpliffP and I went to 19 Broadway to see Clinton Fearon and the Boogie Brown Band circa 2001 or 2002. The band started up right after our group of 4 walked in. They played two full sets of music for maybe 10-15 people. It was only my second time seeing him (first was SNWMF 2000) and the show was great. Clinton chatted us up between sets as well.by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Any idea who is going to be backing Max Romeo?by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Yes, there are a couple stores right across the street where you can purchase ice.by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Agreed. My first choice would be Junior Kelly but I would be happy with any of those three choices too.by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Manu Chao would be right at the top of my list too. Unfortunately, I seem to remember Daniel indicating that the asking price is six figures.by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra will be in the US for Coachella in April. Any chance on getting them to stay over a couple months for SNWMF?by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Indeed. Max Romeo is my most anticipated performance of the entire festival regardless of who they add to the lineup from here on out. Feb 1st was the most difficult day of my life and seeing him on the lineup that morning was a small ray of light that helped brighten that day if only briefly.by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
I wasn't implying that they are performing together, only that they will all be on the Valley Stage on Saturday. Personally, I hope that Max Romeo performs in the evening and gets at least 90 minutes to perform.by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
QuoteDaniel Damian, Stephen and Ghetto Youths on Saturday, with Groundation on Friday night.... Damian, Stephen, Ghetto Youths and Max Romeo on the Valley Stage on Saturday!by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
The don't usually post the lineup by day until sometime in May I believe.by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Quoterossta8888 Yes to Jahdan Blakkamoore!!! Ninja do you own and of his albums? I am familiar with him off of some I Grade compilations and really enjoy him on Joyful Noise. Does he have an album you would recomend?? Definitely pick this one up.by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Quotemuzik face oh yes SO Far AZ New ,MEXICO , Duranga CO , and California dates , I would love to see Michigan & Smiley come back to SNWMF for the 20th Anniversary on the big stage this time though.by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Will Papa Michigan be performing with General Smiley this Sunday in Tempe, AZ?by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Nice...only in the reggae business. I will definitely call the venue and see what they say. I will be there if the show happens and I will do my best to bring a couple folks with me. As to that 8pm start time that is listed....by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
QuoteDaniel Niceup: I would definately suggest you 'call before you haul'. Club Red's web site is showing a different band that night, so I suspect that date may not happen either..... Thanks for the heads up Daniel. I checked the website a couple days ago and the Meditations were still on there. However, they have now been replaced by the LACS, short for Loud Ass Crackers, a self described &by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
I was planning to see the Meditations on Wednesday night in Tempe, AZ. I hope that the show still happens. I really hope that the promoter and/or venue don't indicate that the show will happen and then I drive 30 minutes on a work night only to find out the show isn't happening.by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
I asked a friend of mine how the show was after he saw Black Uhuru on their last tour. He said that the local (Tempe, AZ) opening band was the best part of the show. Not a particularly good sign. But hey, maybe this time around will be better.by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Anymore Johnny Osbourne videos out there?by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013

Here are a few of my pictures of my top two performers of the weekend. I would love to see both of them return for the 20th Annual SNWMF next year.by niceup - SNWMF Phorum 2013
