OMG. We bohemians are proof of eco friendly subcultures? The 2 day drive to Gerlach is such an easy one from nearby Boonville. The writer needs to visit the area and check out the local subculture. It is booming.

I have enjoyed Gaudi's performances each of the 6 times I have watched him. No 2 sets were the same, and he definitely can rock a reggae vibe. He brings high energy and a great attitude. he loves his audiences. Expect a lot from him!

A check with the Mendocino planning commission turned up a permit application meeting for the festival to be held on May 17. No. At this time there is not a permit. What is EDM? Cook's Valley had a 5K person maximum granted when Reggae Rising was happening. It wasn't that high a number for the more recent shows.

Freedom is the song I hear when I think of Richie Havens. I photo graphed a show in 1995. Amazing energy. He abused guitars in the most powerfully passionate way.

His 2013 performance schedule either has not been updated, or there have been no advertised upcoming performances posted on the site beyond Feb 2, 2013. see it here I checked the Georgia laws/ penalties. Hi Carrie. You know, I will have to get into those old photos to see if Bassie did perform then... I don't think so. He came onto my radar a few years after that when he played with a band from Whale Gulch, named Massawa. However, a bit of research led me to the fact Bassie played on a 1983 recording with the Itals. This shot was made at the first ROTR, 1984.

By all accounts, Blondy became addicted to the drug angel dust, and he began to spend much of his time busking in Central Park, accompanying himself with a drum. Blondy was finally arrested and institutionalized at New York's Bellevue Hospital. No disrespect intended. We don't have to rewrite history. Just learn from it. read what I said carefully. I said he had some drug related problems. I would say getting dosed and having a long term bad experience from the dust qualifies as a drug related problem.

The photographers at reggae music festivals are a unique clique of artists. We get to know each other, respect each other's work and passions. Diane had lots of skills with a camera, and plenty more as a human being. We are going to miss her. Such sad news. Rest in peace. One bright morning when my work is over, man will fly away home.
