Quotespliffp Quoterossta8888 Love Nakeeba! What a show she put on at NWWRF last summer. Her and Sister Carol together was amazing. Really nice video Haile Bless, thank you for sharing!! Yep, I thought she kind of stole the show from Mom that night. "I & I a Roots Roots Roots Roots Rasta" was def. stuck in my head the rest of that night. I am with you Spliffp! I had it stuckby rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
I cannot wait for this show! Going to be an amazing weekend right before SNWMF!!!by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013

Great lineup! Thanks for posting that DJ Treez! I cant go to both this summer but I wouldnt have been dissapointed if I had chosen ROTR. Rockamovya, Army are two I would love to see this summer.by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
What is Gaudi like? Is he a DJ ?? Artist?? I am not familiar with his music at all.by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
I personally really like that. I have seen Stone Love before and was going to miss Downbeat the Ruler. Now I can see Ras Michael and Downbeat.by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
I did not realize that Ras Michael was on the smaller stage friday night. Never seen him. I know where I will be!! No disprespect to SOJA, I saw them in Philly 3 years ago when I flew there to watch a Manchester United match and SOJA was playing same night. Fun show, great musicians but I cannot miss a reggae legend like Ras Michael. Downbeat would be fun but I am stoked for Jah Shacka laterby rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
I was coming to say Kulcha Knox and Army are the first two that come to my head but they are covered. I think that Batch should get some more love for how good he truly is. His last album started to get the credit he deserves.by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
See you all at both Windy City sets!!!!by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
To each their own. I would rather listen to Midnite than Burning Spear. I love Burning Spear, I drove 12 hours to see him in Santa Rosa last year but would still rather see or listen to Midnite. No disrespect to the elders, i just love Midnite that much. Reggabe we seem to have similar tastes in music. Look forward to linking with you at the Festival. I too will be at Iqulah and Windy City eby rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Quotemulligan Quoterossta8888 ....but maybe Downbeat the Ruler in the Dancehall will be fun?? maybe??? no, definitely!!! Sounds good Mulligan! The dancehall scene is new to me. Only time I have experienced it was SNWMF in 08 Rodigan and Stone Love. Didnt really pay attention to them either. After the shows ended I would go to bed. This year you all have me excited for Jah Shaka andby rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
QuoteRedwood Rebel Started attending in 2009.... 2009-Jah Shaka takes the cake in a major way. Followed by Sly & Robbie and Cherine as well as Anthony B 2010-Alborosie leading into Don Carlos (amazing back to back sets) and also Barrington Levy closing on Sunday night 2011-Romain Virgo (hands down) followed by Tribal Seeds and Steel Pulse (I think they played in 2011) 2012-Romain Virgoby rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Reggabe, you seem to have similar tastes in music as I do. I am not familar with Etana at all. Good Stuff? An album i should check out??by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Sorry Jahsiah, that is a bummer when one of you highlights is gone. I know that SOJA is not your favorite but maybe Downbeat the Ruler in the Dancehall will be fun??by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
SOJA will bring a crowd that other artists might not. Wasnt Rebelution headlining friday night last year? Very similar styles and there music sells. Bend, OR cannot get 100 people to come see a roots reggae legend but Rebelution comes thru and 800 people show up?? It is what the masses want. I would push for Groundation to headline over SOJA but that is just my personal liking of Groundationby rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Heard AJ!!! I just wanted to make sure you knew that I meant no disrespect to LKJ and the Dennis Bovell Dub band. I guess in my mind people that didnt like Midnite would find LKJ boring too. I love that people have different tastes in music! That is what makes music so special. See you in Boonville AJ and Juanlove! Look forward to meeting everyone this year at the meet up!by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
QuoteAJ Quoterossta8888 You must have felt that way about LKJ last year I am guessing Juanlove. LKJ & Dennis Bovell Dub Band is not a "snoozer" act. Groundation & Midnite are not & will not be in the same league ~ ever. Please show some respect to the masters. Have a irie day. How did I not show respect to LKJ?? I am a big fan and love his music. IMHO Midnite willby rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Quotejuanlove LKJ with Dennis Bovell was Prob. 1 of the most Crucial Performances of 2012! STRAIT~> I'm Just Not that big of a Groundation fan I guess... I do enjoy a few of their tunes as I do Midnite But feel that the Tempo/Vibe Never Changes with these two Bands. In any Case, It would be Disrespectful to Miss Down Beat Over Groundation I was so dissapointed to not make it last year andby rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Just saw this on FB and came over to read what people thought and nobody has said anything. LOL. Guess everyone is planning on being at Downbeat the ruler anyway??by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Sad to see the negative side of Reggae music. So much love in my life from Bunny, Bobs and Lee Perry's music. That is how I will always remember them!!!!by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Because you feel that way about all the other bands I love. LOL. I just thought since you find Groundation and Midnite as a snoozer than LKJ probably wont do anythign for you either.by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
You must have felt that way about LKJ last year I am guessing Juanlove.by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
"He mixed it up with Coke and Cigs" What????by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
I love Sunday night sets! Seen some of my favorite shows at festivals have been on Sunday nights. Saturday always brings the dancehall and with it people come from ????? Who knows, Sunday all those people are gone and typically it is more roots music than dancehall on Sunday night. Couldnt think of a better time to see Alpha!by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Nice Jah Mike! You live in Portland?? Gappy Ranks on the bill along with Bobby Hustle and Rising Buffalo Tribe! Going to be an epic night! I believe the phoroms own Ninja is putting the show on with Ras Danny of Higher Reasoning reggae times!!! Jah Mike, Richie Spice in PDX this saturday!!!! See you there?by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Very true Daniel! Midnite gets thrown into the mix because people cant help but talk about them!!!! Deep Tangle Roots!!!by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
I am always down for MIDNITE the greatest band of all time!!!! Whatever it takes to get them there. MIDNITE would be the best name on the bill bar none. Yeah I said it!!!by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
- 13 days agoQuoteDanny Crucial I started counting down in July Sapo my brotha! My smart self started thinking July??? Wait a minute isnt SNWMF in June. LOL.by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Awesome NOMO! Thanks for typing out the lyrics. I have seen that song live a few times and each and every time it is amazing. My favorite song of my 3 trips was Old Robe in Seattle. You have that posted on youtube from SNWMF 2011. Sadly i missed that Midnite show.by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
I will get in touch with you LK!by rossta8888 - SNWMF Phorum 2013
