Does Adrian hold down inna dance? I like most of his productions, etc. - just never heard of him being stand alone entertainment. I do see he has live dates on his site, so I'm probably just clueless on this one?by Dubguy - SNWMF Phorum 2013
You're joking? Max Romeo, Cornell Campbell, U Roy, Leroy Sibbles, etc.... more roots right there than the entire RITH lineup. Capleton does nothing for me and I've seen Steel Pulse a billion times - If I were going I'd be stoked on Anuhea, Marlon and interested to see what Inner Circle is up to these days, but otherwise the lineup doesn't float my boat all that much, at least for a festival lineuby Dubguy - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Damn the system! It could be worse, but a bummer nonethelessby Dubguy - SNWMF Phorum 2013
I wish I was making 50k! LOL - I think the issue here is the fact that a middleman is (over)charging for a basic service. Some of these shows tack on 15-20 bucks per ticket (not all for Ticketmaster - some can be city entertainment tax, venue surcharge, etc), and then you get slapped with $15 in parking when you arrive. then $14 beers, $8 sodas, etc. Someone is at least trying to buck the sysby Dubguy - SNWMF Phorum 2013

QuoteJah Mike Please explain how you figure there are only 9 Midnite studio albums. I believe many of the albums you are thinking of are more of the "produced by Vaughn, using Midnite players" rather than full length, official Midnite releases. Think of the gazillions of Lee Perry collections for example: most are really other artists that were produced by LSP at his studio, with someby Dubguy - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Nice interview from the talented and real RZ. I had to crack a smile at: "It features backing from such luminaries as Sly Dunbar, Robbie Lyn, Mikey Chung, Skully, Boris Gardiner, "Stepper" Briard and Herb Daly." Nice list to be included on there Herb! Hope something comes of that Sly colab soonby Dubguy - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Somewhat OT here, but: I'm still scratching my head at the fact that ZZ Top is opening for Kid Rock? And on a tour where tickets are only $20 no less. The times they are a changing... but nice to see some ticket prices I can agree with. Looking forward to Ras Michael on the village stageby Dubguy - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Haha - I was going to say LSP is hardly the exception (for funny boy biz) in reggae music, but Papa Ray put it much better than I could. I will add: Perry has been spouting off for so many years now that his rants/fabrications/distortions come off as exactly that. Just like Charlie Sheen, he may say something completely outrageous, but he still seems like he's your slightly "touched"by Dubguy - SNWMF Phorum 2013

Are you not going yellowberry? If you are, you can probably sell it in less than 10 minutes near the entrance for what you paid.by Dubguy - SNWMF Phorum 2013
@Diesel - when you're front and center you can get real interaction with the artists, see facial expressions, etc. - basically all the things you otherwise would only see in a video. And the energy is more direct, especially if you're moving to the beat. That being said - when my knees are tired, etc - you'll usually find me by the board. Only four acts per day at the village stage? That seems a little unusual, as the day usually kicks off over there - but otherwise looking good!by Dubguy - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Quotespliffp Yep....Was so surprised to see the new additions, I was content with the lineup prior to today. Should be the best of my 14 year reggae festival experience. Give thanks!!! Haha - me too! I thought we were full up! Surprises like this I can handle...by Dubguy - SNWMF Phorum 2013
He's not sounding very "Lion-ish", in fact I just saw some video for Lighters Up where Mavado calls him Snoop Dog more than once. Obviously he's not committed to this whole rasta thing: Bunny was right on! And the song isn't good either. Better than that Miley tune (which is horrible!!) - but not by much.by Dubguy - SNWMF Phorum 2013
The Sons of Champlain put on one of the best shows last year at the Paradise Performing Arts Center, and at the SN Big Room shortly before that. If you played with Bill you rate in my bookby Dubguy - SNWMF Phorum 2013

QuoteTarzan Marysville=Dusty ,dusty and more dust . The community were not friendly at all. Thanks god for Mendocino community and the beauty of the area is just Niceness. I think you're referring to Angel's Camp there Tarzan. Marysville was nice, expansive camping on green grass, had a river flowing by, and an awesome music bowl. I don't think anyone on here thinks he doesn't have talent - it's more of a preference thing. I think everyone can agree he has a fairly unique tone, and some like it a lot, some don't really get it - and some like me enjoy it in smaller doses. I've seen them live and enjoyed their whole set, he's just not the singer I would hire to voice on any of my recordings.by Dubguy - SNWMF Phorum 2013
Okay that was weird! It was a short teaser on YouTube - but I let it play through after posting it, and after the rude interruption it loads a more complete version and starts playing it? Something bizarre going on there.by Dubguy - SNWMF Phorum 2013
