Sierra Nevada World Music Festival runs deep. This was posted yesterday by SNWMF resident DJ Carter Van Pelt: "On his birthday, I'm thinking about the great Dennis Brown. nice riddim not really reggae or jamaican dancehall like i expected... more like a version of the current JA tries at US pop... yeah, like a US version of JA-pop. but nice riddim still. i like it. rating the voicings 1. bost and bim... i am a fan of your work and have bought from you over the years (including directly from one of you, although i'm not sure which... apologies) i was not glad you were working with this song as it has been terribly, terribly overplayed in the US. no doubt it is a great tune, and a great production, but it has suffered from overplay. that said, for me, this is not a very goodby so nice - SNWMF Phorum 2013

produced some nice material as well. stamina man is of course right though, if maybe even understating it. everyone knows they've heard sly & robbie, but a lot of listeners really don't know how many times they've heard sly & ranchie. lots of hit songs that way, and he played on a lot more. big, big musician.by so nice - SNWMF Phorum 2013
